Analysis of the development of polypropylene downstream industry

In the past three years, the annual average consumption of polypropylene (PP) in China has increased by more than 10%. Due to economic growth and the Olympic and World Expo sessions, it is expected that domestic PP consumption will continue to exceed 10% in 2005-2010. increase.
The application of PP products in China is mainly concentrated in the fields of weaving, film and injection molding. In recent years, the rapid development of domestic packaging, electronic appliances, non-woven fabrics and other fields has increased the use of PP in these fields year by year. In 2004, the apparent consumption of PP in China was 7.648 million tons, and the consumption structure is shown in Figure 1 (omitted). In China's PP resin consumption structure, the consumption of woven products is the largest, accounting for 51.5% of the total consumption, and the proportion of injection molding, film and fiber is low, while the world's PP consumption structure accounts for a major share of injection molding products, especially automobiles. In industrially developed countries and regions, the proportion of PP injection molding products is higher. Therefore, China's PP consumer market is not yet mature, and the PP resin product structure needs further adjustment.
1. Weaving products In recent years, the development of injection molding products and packaging films has gradually changed the consumption structure of PP in China. The proportion of PP used for drawing has decreased, but woven products are still the largest area of ​​PP resin consumption.
At present, domestic PP resin can fully meet the needs of woven products. The main brands are F401 and 2401 of Mitsui Process, T30S of Haimont Process, and PP powder of small body process. The main brands of imported PP drawing materials are Japan's F601, F301, F401, South Korea's H436, H730F, India's H03SG and Saudi's 500P. Plastic woven bags made from imported resins are mainly used for export. In addition, Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu and other places have about 150,000-300,000 tons of recycled PP resin for the production of wire-drawing products, and the quality of PP-drawn wire products produced by recycled materials is poor. It is expected that the demand for PP wire-drawing products in China will still be large for a long time, but the proportion will continue to decline.
2. Injection molding products At present, typical domestic brands include EPS30R, J340, K8003, K8303, 1340, 1440, V30G, M2101R, M700R, M180R, K7726, 1947, SP179, EV14R, HHP4, etc.
More than half of China's PP injection plastics are imported. Imported products are mainly from South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Europe, America and the Middle East. Typical brands are J340, BJ730, 570P, AP03B, M1600, AY564, RP344R, B380G, H110MA, etc., including block copolymers and random copolymers, MI The minimum value is 0.8 and the maximum is more than 30. Compared with the imported materials, the MI values ​​of different batches of domestic copolymers of the same grade are quite different, which makes the processing difficult and the rejection rate is high. Many enterprises prefer to spend 300-1000 yuan/t to purchase imported materials. This problem should be caused. Domestic petrochemical companies pay enough attention to it and resolve it early.

PP is used in the automotive industry. The main brands of domestic manufacturers are 1540, 1740, 1640, K8303, K1008 of Yanhua Company, EPS30R, EPF30R of Qilu Company and 1640 of Panjin. Chinese enterprises have made great progress in the research and development of high-flow impact copolymer PP. The main brands are Yanhua K9020, K9920, K9035, K9935, Yangzi Petrochemical K9020 and K9935, Tianjin Petrochemical TJPP2027, TJPP2028, but the domestic product melt index is 30. Below, the performance is not stable and needs further study.
China is the largest washing machine producer. In 2004, the production of washing machines consumed about 160,000 tons of PP. The product grades mainly include PP1647, PP1747, PP1847, PP1947, PP1947H, K7726, K7735 of Yanhua Company, HHP3 of Maoming Petrochemical, and J746 of Panjin Petrochemical.
3. Film products
PP film mainly includes BOPP, CPP, general packaging film and microporous film.
BOPP film China's BOPP film production is mainly concentrated in South China, East China, its production capacity accounts for more than 70% of the country's total BOPP production capacity. In 2004, the production capacity of BOPP film reached 2 million t/a (138 production lines), the output was about 950,000 tons, and the consumption of BOPP raw materials was about 1 million tons. Due to the large profit margin and the rapid growth of demand for BOPP film production, various production lines have been introduced, resulting in a serious overcapacity. The market competition is extremely fierce and the benefits are declining. Especially in 2004, the price of PP resin has risen sharply, while the price of BOPP film is not. Rise and fall.
The main brands of BOPP domestic raw materials with line speeds of 250m/min and below include Qilu Petrochemical, Dalian West Pacific, Daqing Petrochemical Company's T36F, Maoming Petrochemical's T46F, Shanghai Petrochemical's F280, Tianjin Petrochemical's T38F, Yanshan Petrochemical's F1002, and Guangzhou Petrochemical. F400 and so on. Imported raw materials mainly include FS2011, FS3011 of Singapore TPC Company, H225W, H230W of Korea Petroleum, H2210 of Hyundai Korea, KF6100 and S38F of Bassell, etc. Other imported grades are mainly concentrated on heat seal film, such as Solvay KS409, KS400, KS413, XF7511 from Chisso, Japan.
The F280S developed by Shanghai Jinshan and the BOPP material line speed of Qilu Petrochemical can reach 300m/min, and industrial production has been realized. However, since the domestic brands are in the early stage of development and promotion, the output is far from meeting the market demand, and the self-sufficiency rate is only 20%. The import brands mainly include the American Exxon 4792E1, the American ARCO company HF0370, the Japanese first light F300SP, the Thai BASELL, the Korean SK, South Korea BASELL, as well as Taiwan's Yongjia, Taihua products.
CPP film
CPP accounts for a small proportion of PP film. In 2004, China's CPP film production was about 140,000 tons. However, with the improvement of the quality of PP resin, the improvement of equipment performance and the improvement of processing capacity, the gap in performance between CPP and BOPP films is gradually narrowing. In recent years, the market situation has quietly changed, CPP has increased new application areas, and has seized more market share from BOPP. Most of the BOPP films produced in China use general-grade raw materials, and the film properties are limited, which weakens their competitive advantage to ordinary CPP films, so this trend is the strongest.
The raw materials used for the CPP film mainly include a homopolymer, a binary random copolymer, and a ternary random copolymer. The domestic brands include FC801, F800E and F800EPS of Shanghai Petrochemical, and C1608 and C4608 of Yanhua, which account for about 30% of the total. The rest are all imported.
