Basic knowledge of textile fabrics: shrinkage

What is shrinkage?

The weaving rate is one of the fabric process design parameters, which refers to the difference between the original length of the warp (or weft) yarn in the fabric and the corresponding fabric length (or width), and the percentage of the original length of the warp (or weft) yarn. . The warp knitting ratio and the weft knitting ratio are respectively expressed.

First, the calculation of the fabric shrinkage rate:

1. Calculation of warp yarn weaving rate:

L3 - the length of the weft after straightening:

L3 - the length of the weft after straightening:

L3 - the length of the weft after straightening:

L4 - the length of the weft of the swatch.

L4 - the length of the weft of the swatch.

L4 - the length of the weft of the swatch.

Where: a - warp yarn weaving rate;

L1 - the length of the warp after straightening (ie the original);

L2 - the length of the warp of the swatch.

2. Calculation of weft shrinkage rate:

Second, the factors affecting the shrinkage of the fabric : affecting the shrinkage of the fabric

1. Raw material components The influence of fiber raw materials on the weaving rate is complicated. Generally speaking, yarns that are prone to buckling have a large rate of weaving; yarns that are prone to plastic deformation have a small rate of weaving.

2. When the warp and weft yarns with different linear density of yarn density are interlaced, the higher the linear density, the more difficult the yarn is to buckle, and the smaller the weaving shrinkage; the weaving rate of the high linear density yarn fabric in the fabric with the same warp and weft yarn density. Larger.

3, the yarn twist is large, the yarn structure is tight, the stiffness is large, the shrinkage performance is poor, the shrinkage rate is small, and vice versa.

4. The more interlacing points of the average floating fabric, the smaller the average float length, and the more the buckling waves of the warp and weft are woven, the greater the weaving shrinkage.

5, fabric density The tighter the fabric, the more the buckling wave of the warp and weft, the greater the weaving shrinkage of the fabric.

6. Machine tension and opening time in the weaving process: the tension of the machine and the opening time directly affect the shrinkage of the fabric and the weft density of the fabric. The upper machine has a large tension, the opening time is early, and the warp buckling wave is small, so the weft shrinks and the weft shrinks; on the contrary, the tension of the upper machine is small, and the warp yarn is buckling, and the weft is reduced and the weft is reduced.

7. The sizing rate affects the sizing: the warp shrinkage rate is high when the warp sizing rate is high, and vice versa.

8. Weaving workshop temperature and humidity:
Temperature and humidity: The temperature and humidity of the weaving workshop are high. The warp yarn is easy to elongate after being subjected to tension, so the shrinkage decreases and the shrinkage increases. Conversely, the shrinkage increases and the weft shrinks.
